Today is the best "Christian Holiday" for me. Christmas, Jesus was just a baby which was a miracle in itself. But Easter gives me hope. I am (and you are) completely forgiven of my (our) sins without having to pay the price. An Eye for an Eye is what I always think about. Thinking about my past and current sin makes me feel dirty, but when I can grasp onto the fact that Jesus died for me (and you) I feel as white as snow.
It's the best feeling for me, better than Christmas time, where the baby Jesus gets lots in the presents and selfishness. This is a new day, spring has come, flowers are in bloom, God's glory is coming out for all of us to see. He loves us that much to send his son to suffer our consequences. That to me is an amazing thing. Hope you and your family find time to celebrate the true meaning of Easter.

well put. too bad we had to endure a gullywasher...no worries though...soccer plays on no matter what. soccer is the "postal worker" of all sports
