Wonder woman on Auto Pilot
Sometimes I feel like I am wonder woman...nothing can touch me. Today has been one of those crazy whirl wind days. I got up LATE, made breakfast (duh- cereal, bagel, and fruits and coffee for Adam). Got my shower, headed off to work, the the rain pouring down. Praying for it to stop (it worked) we didn't have to go to Bryant for Indoor Practice. I was very busy today at work. Took my lunch hour, went to Lowe's picked up somethings, came home, started a load of laundry, put up some dishes, cleaned the counters, picked up the towels off the floor, pet the cats, fed them (again), got online paid some bills, and then got back to work, YES all that in exactly an hour (including my drive time from downtown to NLR)...we had our monthly birthday party at work - basically you pay $4 / month to be in the Bday club and you get an hour off of work to party and eat, so I decided that would be my lunch today. I got off at 4:30 and went to my mom's office downtown, changed into my workout clothes, Adam brought me Kobie (Jacob was @ soccer practice)(Dylan was with Nano - Jaci had art lessons - then they went out to eat)...So Kobie and I headed off to the gym where I took my hour step class and then the 15 min core crunch (which will crunch you to the core- it hurts)...Came home made dinner, did some more laundry- still working on it now...Sat down ate, looked over the kids homework, had Kobie play his bass for me. Adam is working so I decided I would work too, so we sit across the table and work for about 2 hours. This is crazy...Ending the day with a nice glass of wine and some Mentalist with my hubby. What a wonderfully productive day...I'm going to crash when my head hits the pillow.

Exhaustion & Stress Cause Grey
Well I have about 15 or more grey / silver wiry hair on the top of my head. I'm ready for this house stuff to be over with and rest easily. The ball is in our buyers court and it's not a lot of fun to sit and wait...I am NOT a patient woman.
This is a test, this is only a test...if it were real you would receive tons more grey hair...this is what I'm hearing over and over...
Adam & I were supposed to go with the New's to the Tomlin Concert. Adam's back is thrown out and my stomach has not been well. So we didn't go. We instead went window shopping, bought Kobie's bday gift (which is not until July-giving it to him early), got a bite to eat and then back home. We were able to talk to each other with no SET time limits...no kids, no noise. It was very pleasant to walk hand in hand like we used to. So sweet. This man is keeping me grounded!
On the plus side, we tried out the NLRAC children's program for two days during Spring Break to give it a "test-drive" before we put them in for the summer. It was great! I loved it, they loved it. They were with other good kids. To me I am very satisfied with our choice of childcare for the summer months.

Updates all round.
So it’s been almost a month…We have had one offer on our home, but her financing wasn’t complete. We are excited and hopeful.
Kobie has immersed himself in his base lessons, he is getting very good and I do not mind listening to the noise b/c its more music than noise, *unlike a brass instrument. He had his 6 month check up with Dr. Gardner (our ear doc). The last time we went in October his hearing had decreased since his surgery, so we decided we would wait until the next 6 month hearing test and then go from there. Well we went and it’s getting worse slowly. We had a CT scan today and we got a call back this evening and were told it's another surgery around the corner. So we sit and wait. He's in the 5% who have had a regrowth happen and it has caused the prosthetic ear bone to move and stop vibrating. If you haven't heard the story...it's amazing. He is my miracle.
We have been gone most every weekend for soccer. Jacob is doing much better than last year and I think this experience of him playing against 13 year olds will come in handy later when playing kids his own age.
This past Saturday Kobie & Jacob ran their last leg (mile) of their Little Rockers Marathon. They did great. Kobie even RAN. We were very proud of them. Saturday night we had Adam’s Crawfish boil (every March bday celebrated during this party my mom throws). We sent the boys home with grandparents and relaxed on the couch and watched Get Smart, planning on a quiet evening before the LR Marathon….Well that’s not what happened, 9o’clock we get a call, Jacob had slipped from the pogo stick, wasn’t wearing a helmet, and hit the back of his head on the concrete…we were in the ER until Sunday morning. Needless to say, I slept and didn’t run. There was nothing wrong with him other than his headache that lasted a few days.
The Holsted House is in constant motion. We have not stopped, I’d like to put on the breaks, but I know when we do it’ll be boring again…like during the Holiday’s…Adam went stir crazy and I was just calm enjoying being a home body. Surely this summer I’ll enjoy it too, we’ve cut out all things, with the exception of Kobie’s music lessons. So will see how it all goes.
Best thing ever is Adam got us DMB tickets for September @ Dickey Stephens park on the field. I’m very excited and can’t wait. And the News have us tickets for Chris Tomlin...I wonder if it'll be like listening to Mr. Carr???
