Snap & Pop

Well Kobie finished his first bass guitar lessons today and loved it. I'm very excited. Adam & I both like his teacher a lot, Mike with LR Jams. He is the only bass specialist. Plus all bands need bass guitarist not just drummers and guitars. This was the instrument Kobie chose without any information from Adam and I. He can't hear high pitched sounds real well due to his ear issues...so this instrument will be great. I'm not so sure how the 30-60 min a day practices will work on my nerves yet, but it's all just a short period of time when I look at the big picture.

Kobie got in the car and had what we call, diarrhea of the mouth, he talked non stop about what he learned in the 30 min lesson. "Okay guys so you can snap it or pop it" he tells the boys. What the heck! I thought you picked it or strummed it, Nope mom is not so smart. I am definitely not the hip parent. So we were asking him what hand he snapped with and which one went on the long cord thing...whatever that's called, still working on all these new vocab words. He said, he used his left hand to make the cords and his right to pop it. Okay, so I ask him, "Were you playing right handed or left handed" (Kobie is left handed, but plays golf and baseball right handed- we have not pushed him in any way regarding his left or right) He said, "well, my teacher is left handed". I screamed, "Thank God". This is amazing, that he can relate to another left handed adult (of which Adam and I are not) that can teach him the proper way to do this instrument his way. We ended up with two lefties, still working on D tying his shoes. It's just miserable, it's all backwards to me.

So while Kobie was in his lessons, I went next door to shop for this Best of the Best banquet we have to attend in February, it's black tie so I have to be all fancy. I put on 4 dresses...that was a lot of work, I found one that I just really love its champagne in color and very stunning, I'm just not sure what everyone else will be wearing and I don't want to be standing out in the crowd. So hopefully I get in touch with Michele and Steph to see what they are wearing so I can stay in the same wave.

Yesterday I got 5 1/2 " cut off this mop head of mine, I feel 10 lbs. lighter. I can't wait for ya'll to see it, which yes, I know you always see it up, because its too hot for my neck and gets in my face with it down. So now it'll be down :) Oh and the stylist commented on my lovely silver hair. He said, "it's not wiry, it's pretty, and there's not to much of it." I'm going grey and haven't even hit 30...I blame the stresses of life / shall we say the fun roller coaster called my life.
